How would you like to work the Primary Election on April 23, assist with Democracy, and get paid?
Each election (primary and general) the County Board of Elections recruits a minimum of five workers for 1,703 divisions (if you do the math, that’s about 8,500 people!) Members of the election board assist their neighbors with voting. These positions are vital to the functioning of Democracy.
The primary will be held April 23, 2024. Since polls are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, poll workers usually show up at 6:30 am to set up, and close out the polls after voting has ended (it is a long day.)
Poll workers are paid by check a few months after the election. The daily rate for a poll worker is approximately $200.00 (plus more if you go to training.) It’s also a great way to meet the people in your division.
Positions on the election board are limited. If you would like to work on the election board, you are welcome to contact me. See you at the polls!
