I knock on a lot of doors. I often get an earful about the state of the country, the economy, and the world. “What can we do?” is a common refrain.
It turns out, there is a lot you can do. There are groups you can join, news sources you can support, and actions you can take. Many of these things do not cost a lot of money, nor do they take a good deal of time.
If you would like a good list of suggestions as to what to do in this time of increasing fascism, I recommend ProtectDemocracy.org as a resource. It publishes a 19-point list of things everyday Americans can do to fight back.
Regardless of what source of news you choose, or to what school of thought you subscribe, it is clear that the need for creating community is paramount ro resisting the forces of Trumpism. This means meeting each other and our neighbors with openness and a willingness to listen. If there was ever a time to be our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers, this is it.
If you would like to discuss ways you can get involved further, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at (215) 687-6380. Thank you.
